FAN PROFILE

NAME- Darrol Tourle an exiled (in Portsmouth) fan

FIRST HOME GAME EVER SEEN- 18 April 1987 v Bangor City when we lost 1-0 in front of 465 fans.

FIRST AWAY GAME EVER SEEN-The 1-1 draw in the HFS League Cup at Goole in December 1988 when Clint Neysmith scored our goal in front of 280 fans.

BEST GAME EVER SEEN-The FA Cup tie in November 1988 v Port Vale and the 7-0 home win against Gateshead the following Saturday.

WORST GAME EVER SEEN-The defeat in the FA Cup against Farnborough and cup ties at Accrington and Mossley spring to mind.

BEST OCCASION-It’s getting predictable this one now but it has to be Wembley. I also enjoyed the cup tie at Aylesbury against Dover.

WORST OCCASION-The crowd disturbances and violence against Port Vale when some non Southport fans decided to try and make a name for themselves

FAVOURITE EVER PLAYER-David Eyres and the much underrated Clint Neysmith

FUNNIEST MOMENT WATCHING SFC-The floodlights failing v Gateshead at half time and living within half an hour of Havant & Waterlooville FC but not attending the FA Cup tie. I bet everyone is wondering why now but Darrol hasn’t said!

BEST GROUND-West Leigh Park, Havant as it is so close to me living in Portsmouth

I first attended Southport when I was at school in Southport (Stanley High) by bus. Soon I was hooked and when I moved to Portsmouth because my dad was in the Navy I maintained my interest. I still try and attend a game at Easter.

I now own all the Southport replica shirts since 1988-89 and managed to get the HFS Loans shirt just in time to wear at the England v Poland WC Qualifier at Wembley.

I still get the programmes sent to me and I am looking forward to this years Easter fixtures.

Thanks to Darrol for this.
