I also recently got Adam Carden who was a sub for us against Manchester City in the recent friendly, he was quite impressed when I asked him if he was THE Adam Carden. He had only 1 sub appearance for us in the game at Witton Albion against Northwich Vics at the end of the 2002/03 season. He did remember playing for us which is more than some. 28 Aug H Fleetwood Town SOUTHPORT 1 FLEETWOOD 0 ATT 1546, 316 Standing Fleetwood fans. 25 Aug PREDICTION LEAGUE Updated. 24 Aug H Altrincham 7.45pm SOUTHPORT 1 ALTRINCHAM 0 ATT 1088, 125 Standing visitors. 23 Aug If anyone is having access problems to the main part of the official site try http://southportfc.net/home.php If this doesn't work please let me know. I have tested entry from a number of computers and all are working fine. There are, I understand, problems with accessing from mobile phones and our hosting company are addressing these issues. We have now temporarily removed the Splash page until the access issues are sorted. 22 Aug I'm not fully moving this part of the site over to sfc.net until a few issues are sorted out. I am attending a meeting with Sponsor Link tomorrow to hopefully iron out a few teething problems. 21 Aug A Cambridge United CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0 SOUTHPORT 0 ATT 2506, 96 Visiting supporters. We made a decision to put it up so that it was in place for the new season. The real work starts now as we start to build it up into the finished article. We are aware there is a lot of work to do. We need to get the video work sorted, we need to put the shop on line, we need to neaten the pages, sort the links and we need to update the player details, it all takes time. All I can say is it will be worth it in the end. We have gone with a commercial website to bring in extra revenue, the ads all make the club money. 10 Aug Home v Man City PSF 7pm Kick Off. SOUTHPORT 0 MAN CITY X1 3 ATT 710. Website tests going well and almost ready. Hopefully either late Wednesday or first thing Thursday we will be up and running. 9 Aug IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS YOU WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ROUTED TO SOUTHPORTFC.NET WHEN VISITING THIS SITE. THE CONTENT WILL BE EXACTLY THE SAME BUT ENTRY WILL BE VIA SFC.NET At least that is what I am being told, they could all be speaking Swahili as far as I know. All these techy things are way over my head! Southportfc.net will be going down for an unknown period. I have been told it could be anything from 20 minutes to 48 hours depending on how the transfer goes. The norm is apparently around 6 hours but that is now out of our control as the transfer is underway. Haydn has contacted a number of people about being a part of the Media Team and the plan is to have a meeting with as many people as possible in the next 10 days to sort out Log Ins and Responsibilities. The Team will be in place and you will be able to see on the site who has responsibility for which area from, podcasts, to video to match reports to stats, no prizes for guessing who has reserved that area. It will take time to build it up. We have been advised not to put a lot on the dummy site and not to update the current site to aid the transfer so there is a lot of work needed. If there are any problems you can e-mail me for now on rob@southportfcstats.co.uk 8 Aug Almost ready to launch. I have switched my front page over to the Official Site header. It may possibly be tomorrow. We have a meeting on Monday morning to get a few things sorted out. 6 Aug The launch of the new official site is getting closer. It has to be remembered it is a long term project to improve it. At first there will be a lot to build in but we are all very excited at what the site will give us and over the coming months we are sure our supporters will welcome the new site and of course the big thing is it is earning much needed funds for the club so whilst it will have a number of ads it's worth remembering every one of those ads is a new revenue stream for the club. 5 Aug Away at Bamber Bridge PSF BAMBER BRIDGE 1 SOUTHPORT 0 3 Aug Away at Marine PSF MARINE 1 SOUTHPORT 1 Last minute equaliser from a free kick by Shaun Gray. 2 Aug SFCSTATS will soon become part of the club's official site. I will continue to run SFCSTATS but under the umbrella of the official site. This site has been running for close on six years as an independent website and I have never had any problems with doing this because the club site wasn't bringing in any money so there was never any competition. The Club will be launching a new site very shortly which is a commercial operation and I have offered to include SFCSTATS as part of the official website, an offer that has been accepted. It will become a stats only website, as was the original intention when I launched it in September 2004. The only big differences will be that the news and views will not be the same and some of the articles in the FAN ZONE will be archived. The header will be the same as the official site and the front page will look slightly different to tie in with the official site. From the stats I get, the N&V is the most visited page and from the feedback I get I am aware that for whatever reason, people like reading my thoughts. However over the last twelve months or so I have cut the comments back a lot as the aggro wasn't worth it if I said something that people didn't agree with so the stopping of the N&V in its present format isn't going to have a big impact. I would like to be able to keep the calendar going but any added Urwinisms will be missing. I have been heavily involved in getting the new official site off the ground and I am hoping that once it is up and running the club will have a site to be very proud of. It won't happen overnight but the plans we have are very impressive with a team of people in place to keep it up to date. More news and a launch date will be out soon. I will be working on this site to bring it in line with the official one over the next week. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
