FAN PROFILE NAME:Doug McNair FIRST HOME GAME EVER SEEN; Southport versus Leyton Orient FA Cup 3rd Round 1999 we lost 2-0 FIRST AWAY GAME EVER SEEN: I think it was Burscough in a friendly. In proper matches it was a trip tp Halifax in 2003 when we won 4-3 via a Mulvaney hat-trick and late Robert Pell winner. BEST GAME EVER SEEN: FA cup 1st round versus Notts County. Rollercoaster of emotion as we came from 2-0 down to secure a 4-2 victory in front of the match of the day cameras. WORST GAME EVER SEEN: When we lost 4-0 against Hucknall in September 2003. Just a terrible performance. BEST OCCASIONS: Listening to Radio York commentator describing our 5-2 victory over Harrogate Town that clinched the title last season. WORST OCCASIONS: Not being able to attend the Southport – Harrogate game due to being situated in a different continent. FAVOURITE EVER PLAYER: Steve Dickinson. He may have the odd moment when he puts everyone’s heart in their mouths, but for a player of his quality to stay at the club for so long is a sign of great character. FUNNIEST MOMENT WATCHING SFC: The game at the end of the 2001/02 season versus Forest Green was a bit bizarre. We scored 5 goals, each worse than the one before. Both teams ended up with substitute goalkeepers on and there was a feeling that the next season could be successful. BEST GOAL SEEN SCORED BY SOUTHPORT PLAYER: Pickford’ against Notts County. It wasn’t a nominee for FA Cup goal of the season for nothing. BEST GROUND VISITED WATCHING SFC:Probably Stalybridge Celtic’s bower fold. Although it would be the Shay if Halifax got round to finishing it!
