FAN PROFILE

NAME Paul Etchells

FIRST HOME GAME EVER SEEN I think it was back in our first season in the Conference. (1993/94). Stafford Rangers were our opponents and we lost 2-0, didn’t seem to stop me coming back though.

FIRST AWAY GAME EVER SEEN It was a trip to Mose Rose, Macclesfield Town. We lost 3-1 unfortunately, it was close to the beginning of the 1995/96 season I think.

BEST GAME EVER SEEN When we absolutely slaughtered Farnborough Town 7-1. Andy Whittaker scored a couple.

WORST GAME EVER SEEN Anytime we’ve been beaten by Morecambe, nothing worst than being beaten by our local rivals, and it’s always freezing cold around Christmas!

BEST OCCASIONS Well, there really can only be one answer to that, Harrogate Town Away, last season. It was a tense atmosphere but who’d have the thought we’d run out 5-2 winners!

WORST OCCASIONS It has to be relegation to the Unibond. An emotional occasion, the worst possible end to a dire season.

FAVOURITE EVER PLAYER Mike Marsh – A real talent, best centre midfielder I’ve seen at the club.

FUNNIEST MOMENT WATCHING SFC Probably the time some of us lot put one of our supporters in a bin at the end of the season! (Darren)

BEST GOAL SEEN SCORED BY SOUTHPORT PLAYER One of those many David Gamble specials!!

BEST GROUND VISITED WATCHING SFC Hilton Park, home of Leigh RMI, due to the fact I love Rugby League also!
