WORST GAME EVER SEEN: 1990-91 season, FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round, Bootle Town 2 ‘Port 0. Alan “Tin-Tin” McDonald scored an own goal from 30 yards!

BEST OCCASIONS: The party in Emley’s clubhouse in 1993, after winning the championship. Considering we had just beaten them heavily, the people at Emley were incredibly sporting. Also the party in the our club bar, after beating Slough Town to reach the FA Trophy Final at Wembley. Billy Stewarts disco/karaoke was superb. Sore head the next day!

WORST OCCASIONS: On the way home on the coach from Stevenage Borough after being relegated in 2003. The Leigh RMI team coach came past us on the motorway and their players gave us some very unsporting hand gestures!

FAVOURITE EVER PLAYER: Stevie Haw and Farrell Kilbane

FUNNIEST MOMENT WATCHING SFC : September 1998, versus Doncaster Rovers at Haig Avenue. Neville Southall got injured quite early on in the match and refused to come off. We won the game due to his stubbornness. Their managers face was a picture!

BEST GOAL SEEN SCORED BY SOUTHPORT PLAYER : Dave Gambles’ free kick in Port’s 2-1 away win at Merthyr Tydfi. Even Ex-Premier league referee Roger Milford stopped and applauded the goal!

BEST GROUND VISITED WATCHING SFC : Nene Park – home of Rushden and Diamonds.

ANY ANECDOTES: Travelling to Mossley for a friendly game and my girlfriend, at the time offered to drive me to the match as I had been working on nights. So I fell asleep in the car and didn’t wake up for as hour on the road. Only to discover that we were approaching Birmingham! My girlfriend was taking to Moseley!

Cheers Up the ‘Port Warwick Monk…
