NEWS ARCHIVE MAY & JUNE 2010 30 Jun The fixtures will be out on general release at 4pm tomorrow. They will be on this site after 6pm when I get home after a long days work. 21 Jun Various club websites are now reporting that the fixtures will be released on Monday July 5th. 20 Jun Updated Complete NL Matches Record to include Goals For and Goals Against. Checks done to balance. Liam advised the Club AGM that signings were complete and there will be some surprise departures. TIY had a very good meeting with Liam, Charlie and Sam after the AGM. Full details will be available soon. Possibly one of the most positive meetings we have held to date. 17 Jun Championship Dinner at Floral Hall 7.30. Tickets £30. 9 Jun All very quiet at present. I will do a round up of the squad once we know who has signed and who is leaving. 8 Jun I have started my latest project to complete an A-Z of every player who has played for us in our NL days trying to do a brief biog for each one. Some are easy, some are very difficult. Not sure what to do with it as yet once it's done. It could be a weekly programme feature or even produced into a brochure. Information is quite scarce but if anyone does have ant player biogs please send them on to me. It will take some time to complete, there have been 606 NL players to date. Any information particularly odd snippets about players would be gratefully received. 5 June Best of 200910 added to the Photo Gallery on Photobucket. 31 May Club Shop open 10am to 2pm. 15 May It was a VERY busy night in the shop with great sales of the brochure and club merchandise. We only have around 70 brochures left on general sale. Please follow the order details above to complete your order. All postal orders received by Thursday 13 May were despatched (worldwide) yesterday. 14 May Championship Brochures available. Club Shop open from 4-7pm. Anyone making a purchase in the Club Shop today will be entered into a draw to win a bottle of whisky. 12 May Most of the latest batch of pics have been identified although differing names have been put forward. 11 May Lead to believe the new season will be starting on August 14th, still need 100% confirmation but countdown adjusted to reflect this. 10 May Once again, I got all the names for the pictures, thank you to everyone who responded. I have a few more to go at below. It's something to do in the close season. 1-2-3-4? I think I know 1 and 4 but 2 and 3? As most people who know me are aware I am terrible at putting names to faces. All the pictures I am putting on here are going into my pictures archive ready for use whenever I need them. I'd like eventually to have a picture of every NL player that has played for us but one or two will I think prove impossible and for those who were around in our early NL days you will know why that is the case!!!!!! If anyone does have any player pics particularly from early NL days and is happy to share them please get in touch. I've received our first list of pre-season friendlies today and they are listed above. I'm also trying to check out when the season starts. I assumed it would be 7 August (and my countdown is working to that date on the front page) but I understand it could be 14th August. 9 May It worked! All the players put on yesterday have been named, thank you Liam! Next batch below. 1-2-3? Fleetwood beat Alfreton 2-1 in the BSN Play Off Final and Bath beat Woking 1-0 in the BSS Play Off Final. Just the winners of Oxford/York and we will know the full set up of the league. Seven potential new grounds for me although 100% attendance at the away games is unlikely next season. I thought the league had a more northern bias but looking at the list below there are some long trips ahead and the mileage is actually only just going to be short of the 2006/07 season. 8 May HELP NEEDED-Resolved I am tidying up my photo archives and several players aren't named, and I will be putting them on here until I get names for them all any offers? I think I know some of them but would appreciate any confirmation. Please e-mail rob@southportfcstats.co.uk if you know them. 7 May If anyone needs any of last seasons home or away programmes please get in touch. I have surplus stocks of all homes and most away programmes (except Eastwood) available. Any dealers interested in buying home programmes in bulk are welcome. 5 May Presentation Night & Civic Reception photos now on Photobucket Presentation Night CIVIC RECEPTION 4 May Loads of pages updated today. Still a few to do but it is looking better. Watch out for a new look for the new season. Still after an SFCSTATS logo! 3 May Wow, what a busy 10 days it has been! Firstly apologies for the lack of updates. It has been chaos with one thing and another, I have just not had a minute to update the site. I now have a few days off so the plan is to get everything back up to date. Importantly, our Reserves did indeed win the league following a 5-0 win against Workington. We have also had a presentation evening and civic reception. The photos will be on Photobucket in due course. Both nights were great fun. The civic reception was held at the Scarisbrick Hotel and was a lovely evening. The highlight has to be Tony McMillan's karaoke rendition of Buffalo Soldier which had everyone on their feet and some laughing themselves off their chairs. It will be well worth getting hold of a copy of the dvd of the presentation evening and reception just for this. Richard Hughes and Adam Flynn also proved themselves to be rather decent singers along with Flynn Junior. I think Kev Lee and Robbie Booth need to stick to football. Phil Carder is this year's winner of the PREDICTION LEAGUE and will be receiving his trophy and £50 prize shortly. I have also been taking hundreds of orders for the Eastwood DVD and TIY brochure, so much so that e-mail replies have been a bit scarce, sorry! Thank you though to everyone who has ordered, passed on good wishes and sent messages since we won the league, I will try and get round to replying as soon as I can. Details about the brochure are above. It goes to print tomorrow and the plan is to have it back and out on the streets on the 14th May with the shop open from 4-7pm. Julia has now produced a CD photo disc of Eastwood, the celebrations back at the club, the presentation night, the open top bus parade and the civic reception. They are available for £4 including P&P by mail order to me at the address below or e-mail me as below. Cheques payable to Trust In Yellow. The 500 Limited Edition Championship celebration brochure produced by Trust In Yellow is heading for an early sell out with over 350 advance orders already placed. Details of payment and collection are above. Orders can still be placed by e-mail to rob@southportfcstats.co.uk. It is a superb 48 page production with only one page of ads making it a great read. It is crammed full of articles, special features, photos and stats. A must have for all Southport fans. |
