STANDING ORDER FOR GOALDEN LOTTERY
|
A TRIBUTE TO TERRY FEARNS Southport's record breaking goalscorer has signed for Droylsden after failing to make an impact in the Conference National. I for one am very sorry to see him go but time moves on and it was clear all was not well this season. He will never be forgotten by all Southport fans as most see him being the difference between another season in Conference North or where we are now. He scored 33 league goals and 8 in cup competitions. My top three Terry goals: The 4th at Hucknall, his only one from outside the box but what a belter and winner of SFCSTATS goal of the season. His second at Worksop when he beat half the team and then decided to do it again. His record breaking goal at home to Hucknall, a fairly simple header but it meant so much to us all. Needless to say Terry scored on his Droylsden debut! PLAYER PROFILE
Striker-Terry Fearns Squad Number 9 An exciting summer 04 signing that signalled Southport 's goal scoring intent. With 111 goals in three seasons at Vauxhall Motors Terry has become noted as one of the most prolific current non league strikers. Previous clubs include Wigan (never mind) Marine and St Helens . Terry proved a quality finisher with all but one of his club goalscoring record 33 goals for The Port being scored from inside the box. The one that wasn’t, at Hucknall, won the sfcstats readers goal of the season award. He was also voted sfcstats Player Of The Year. Gets caught offside quite a bit but by looking to take advantage of the “benefit of the doubt” rule Terry scored many goals from one on ones. Became the first Southport player to score 20 League goals in a season since Steve Haw in the 92/3 season and is another who has outright legend status at Haig Ave!
